Accommodation

Sarnfaen Holiday Park is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and rugged coastline, and this has led to the development of some stunning and historic golf courses nearby. If you enjoy a round of golf or are even thinking of a golfing holiday, you are spoilt for choice when you stay at Sarnfaen, part of Pritchard Leisure!

We are excited to announce that we have an ongoing partnership with first-class golf courses in our area and exclusive benefits for our rental guests and holiday homeowners.

Here are our top three golf courses near Barmouth that are a must when you come to stay with us

Royal St David’s Golf Club – could this be one of the most stunning settings to play golf in the world? We think so! Stretching from the impressive grandeur of Harlech Castle, Royal St David’s golf course is set among rolling sand dunes and brings spectacular views of the Snowdonia Mountain range. The way the course is set up makes it a challenge, as rather than being an ‘out and back’ design, the route exposes golfers to different wind directions. This enables them to use all their skills to complete the course.

Porthmadog Golf Club – the historic Porthmadog Golf Club was established in 1905 and designed by a leading course designer at the time, James Braid. With the front nine holes overlooking beautiful heathland, and the back nine holes offering stunning views of the Cardigan Bay coastline and Snowdonia, you’ll not only enjoy your game but be able to see a diverse range of plants and wildlife. Facilities on-site include electric and pull trolleys, practice nets, and practice grounds including a putting green so you can warm up before you play. After your game, relax and enjoy some refreshments in the clubhouse.

Aberdovey Golf Club – nestled between the Cambrian Mountain range and the shore, and at the mouth of Dove estuary, Aberdovey Golf Club is not only a beautiful place to enjoy a game but will test the skills of every player too. It is here that Ian Woosnam practised before attending the US Masters each April, and it is easy to see why! If you enjoy fast, firm greens, a range of top facilities, and natural scenery, this is the golf course for you.

There’s no doubt that the rugged landscape in this part of Wales has helped bring about some of the best golf courses in the world. This is not only due to the amazing views, but the differences in mountain and sea breezes create challenges for players of every skill level.

Whether you are a novice, mid-level, or professional, you will find plenty to enjoy at all of these golf courses.

If you are looking for a golfing holiday, or simply want to experience a day’s play during your visit to Wales, Sarnfaen park is within close proximity to these prestigious golf clubs. If you would like to take advantage of our ‘stay and play’ options, we have a range of accommodation for your needs.

Our leisure facilities include a modern, fully equipped gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. This is exactly the relaxing luxury that’s welcomed after a day on the golf course… you can also grab 20% off Abersoch Golf Course on the iconic Llŷn Peninsula if you are owners or rental lodge guests. Simply contact reception at our sister park Madryn Castle.
